About Richard's River Camp
A stylish owner-designed hideaway of seven tents on the Ntiakitiak’s forest edge — safari heritage family, interiors-magazine looks, serious cats.
The area: Olare Motorogi Conservancy
Founded in 2006 with roughly 33,000 acres directly north of the reserve’s Musiara sector, along the Olare Orok and Ntiakitiak rivers. Its lion research pedigree and one-tent-per-2,100-acres rule made it the model modern conservancy.
What it's like
Arguably the finest predator viewing in the Mara with the lowest vehicle density in the ecosystem — a handful of small, high-end camps share the entire landscape.
Getting there & fees
Ol Kiombo airstrip is closest; guests can traverse into the reserve for migration crossings about 30–45 minutes away.
Conservancy fees (typically US$100–150 per adult per night) are bundled into camp rates here and paid to Maasai landowning families; reserve entry fees apply only on days you cross into the reserve itself.
